All the gear you see being used by enemy humans in The Surge can be cut off, taken, and crafted for yourself. Most Weapons can also be taken in the same way - after all, Enemies have a hard time holding onto their industrial tools when their arms have been separated from their body! Of course, to reach your full potential you'll need to invest in upgrading your new equipment as well.
